Hey everyone, I'm with Jean-Pierre. No, I'm the case. I'm with Jean-Luc. Exactly. From Marsh Lab here in Geneva. Thanks very much for having us. Thanks. I'm welcome here. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. So I met some of you team in Vancouver, in Toronto, never met never had the pleasure to meet you. My pleasure. So we have a bunch of people that know about Marsh Lab. A lot of people don't know about Marsh Lab. Yeah. So why will you tell somebody that have no clue about what's Marsh Lab disorder?

That they need to have one, for sure. Maybe sure. As soon as possible. Please. No, I mean that's a French brand inspired by the 70s, and we will try to make some cool watch, elegant, refined, but I mean uh a bit bold, you know, something like uh that has character, yeah, yeah. And with a good construction. And on top of that, we try to keep the price as much affordable as we can, okay, compared to the quality. Okay. So that's the aim, just to be like good watch for good people and cool people.

Okay, so that's the DNA of the brand. I remember a little bit told me if I'm wrong, but Saint-Tropez, LA.

It's kind of like the idea, or no, Saint-Tropez is East and we are in Biaritz, West. Biarritz, I am for that.

That's the same. It's been too long I moved from France.

Yeah, LA because the partner, the one of my partners, the designer, is based in Los Angeles. His name is Jerome Maj, but he's he's he has beat the brand, Jacques-Marie Maj glasses. Yeah, okay. He's the founder. Yeah. And uh I am based in Biarritz, and actually, those two cities, I mean they look a bit the same because they are subsidies, yeah, West Coast, cool atmosphere, everybody has style and cheese, and it's I mean uh you need to go there. I mean, have you been there already?

Okay, so Biarritz is uh like we call it the little French California because it looks the same. You see people in the street with surf bars, I mean people are really relaxed. Historically, Biarritz was a city where a lot of famous artists, painters or writers, or even people like uh Coco Chanel, she had a third shop. A first shop of Coco Chanel was in Paris, then the second one in Dauville, and the third one in Paris more than 120 years ago. So that's that's a city with a lot of history. So coming back to history, when did you launch Marsh Lab? Marsh Lab was launched like 14 years ago, one floor. Wow 2011. Okay and we started in France and we did a salary in Basel World and that was a good story. Where were you in Basel World?

I did 10 Basel World.

Under the 10th at the beginning, and then after at the third floor, or the seventh floor.

I was with Swatchbook for 12 years with Hamilton watches. Okay. I was the brand manager for Canada, so I did like 10 Basel Watch. So that's right.

What makes you one day wake up and like you know what? I'm going to launch my watch brand. What is this Eureka movement?

SPEAKER_01 2:34

The thing is that I was doing the watches for the surf brand Quicksilver. So I was doing surf watch, mostly like you know, dive watch or action sport watches, yeah, digital to go to water. And I was like trained to that, and I've learned how to build them, how to develop them, how to design them, how to sell them also. Basically, I have to say that Quicksilver they gave me the watch, uh the virus. The virus about the watches. I was liking the watch with that just from far. And then after I started to look at the watch and wow, yeah, it's a kind of cool product. I like it because it's so hard to make it nice and you know, to make something attractive, different, but with its own flavor, its own signature. Yeah, and then uh they gave me the passion, and one day I went to see my to see my boss and I said, Hey Pierre, you told me, you teach me how to do watches, you teach me how to sell them, you teach me how to market them. So I'm gonna do my own brand. Wow. And he said, Why you do that? I said, Yeah, I need to go. And it was I have a vision. Yeah, he was a kind of disappointed because we had a good relations. He said, Okay, just go and I follow you and I will help you if I can. Okay. So then I left Cooksiler and I built my own brand.

Wow, amazing. Talking about the brand, obviously, can you show us and talk to us a little bit about that? So, what do you gotta hear first?

SPEAKER_01 3:43

Okay, and that first watch is like uh uh monster small second. So basically, what you see is that here you have an octogonal shape and the subdial also is octogonal, and you get this small second inside. Also, if you look at the shape, the crown is octogonal, yeah, the same. And all our watches are basically really a shape with angulated faces because we like it to be like sharp and aggressive. If you look at the back of the watch, you have a movement, and also we have always the scene the green C-through case back, always as a signature, as well as the bone, it's always green because the green is a signature. You have green everywhere, and so that watch is like a 35mm. Yeah, the movement is Swiss, assembled in France, bone is made in France, and it's like a dressy watch, looking old but modern.

Wow. And I love the second hand, it's second hand, right? Seven o'clock? Yeah, yeah, love it. So I have a funny story for you. One day I go to France to visit my brother. He's like, oh, I just saw your article about Marsh Lab. I think that was Vancouver, Toronto. And he's like, hey, and he called his wife, and my sister-in-law came, and uh Julie had a mouth lab on the wrist. No way and I actually sent it to a picture that he sent it. I was like, look at what I got, you know. So it's already part of the family, you know. So it's a good story, right? It's good, yeah. Coming back to the first sentence that you say, I want everybody to be able to bachelor, right?

That watch we do it in two sides, and we do it for women. And I mean that that's a good connection to the next watch as well. This is the one for women. This is the uh Lady Mansa.

Yeah, I think that's the one that she has, but uh white eyes.

This is the same case, yeah, same construction, same crown, but more feminine. And actually, we are becoming really more and more successful with women's watch because we are building like uh elegant watch, dressing, but not too expensive, you know. Okay, because most of the watch for women, uh, if you want an elegant watch, you need to go to the brands and they are really expensive. And now we are kind of like uh yeah, I mean, successful with these kind of watches, affordable and elegant.

Something that I tell you is that for some people, a million dollars is no money, and for some people, $500 is a lot of money. So it's it's about the feeling that you get when you take the timepiece and you're like, oh wow, you know, I wear it and I feel like uh a million bucks without actually the money behind, you know. It's it's it's beautiful.

This one is the last one. This was in the new one for this year. Okay, this one I love it. It's a small mechanical with uh hand winding, and it's really thin, still aggressive, and we need a dial with a little Huntstooth texture uh engraved on the top and it's like really nice.

Yeah, I love that watch. New coming new new release from the show, being uh delivered like uh beginning of May in all the shops all over France, everywhere. Amazing. I love that watch, really aggressive. That's the three typical march lab watches.

Okay, perfect. So now I have a question for you. There's two types of customers. You have the customer that he knows exactly what he wants. He wants a march lab, he goes to your website, he goes to your boutique, he's buying it. But we have a lot of customers that when they're ready to purchase, they're not sure yet. Why will you tell these people that are looking for the next one?

SPEAKER_01 6:40

That's a good question. I would tell them that they will wear a watch that they won't see on any wrist or over. Very unique. And something that is not a knockoff of the old watches, just simply just a copy of it, you know? Yeah, and I would tell them that they will look elegant and cool at the same time. Exactly, yeah, exactly. And basically, it's funny because with all the people that I met like meet every day wearing some of my watches, yeah, they all are happy because they're like a kind of community, like, oh, you got one, okay. You're from the cool side of the uh of the people, yeah. They like it to be like a community having like okay with a march lab.

So, last question, and I know you might have another meeting after, but distribution-wise, I know you obviously have few boutiques in Paris. You have your website. Yes. Where can people from around the world find your product?

SPEAKER_01 7:28

We work with retailers all over France. We have the best retailers in France. Basically, all the retailers in France selling relics, they have march lab all over France, and now we are starting everywhere else in some parts of the world, Indonesia, Japan, we start in Turkey, we're gonna start soon also uh in South Korea. But for the moment it's mostly on the outside rents, it's mostly on the e-shop. We have a few shops in Europe, but not that much.
