WatchDNA — Where Time Connects Us All.
Hey everyone I am excited here with my friend Shazda my friend how are you? I'm good. We're here very excited. We're here with the Citizen Group Canada and basically here for the small media preview for some of the products for the different brands that you see behind Frederick Costal and Final Citizen Blog.
SPEAKER_01The event has a really cool team as well and you are going to be seeing the time pieces with the interesting content.
SPEAKER_03That's actually fancy. This is where I went when the Raptors won and I was just outside. So you know, good old days. Hopefully one day again. Alright, let's go. I know you guys want to see some watches and meet a lot of people. Alright, see you later. Alright, Mikael, thank you so much for having us. Absolutely pleasure having you both here. Yeah, I am very excited because this gentleman, last time we spoke, was not working for the company, and now it's a good man. You work a citizen group in Canada. Very humbled to be here.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. Such a pleasure having the both of you all over here. Thank you. As you know, Citizen is celebrating 50 years of his eco tribe algae. We have the Philadelphia, which is a limited edition, special edition, but I have present over here alongside multiple other brands: Elova, Acrofon, Carovel, Alpina, Fever Constor, Chevy Star, and some very accessible models all the way to high medium luxury. And the summer for everybody over here. And it's time for all.
SPEAKER_03That's amazing. That's amazing. Sorry, I'm coming back. This gentleman was uh at once contributed on the platform, and I'm very, very happy for him, the real for our group. Like I said, we went to the dark side, you know, I was there for 12 years, you know. That is amazing. I love everybody at Citizen Canada, so it's a great company to work for.
SPEAKER_01We have some exciting updates for our followers because Mikhail promised to send us some time pieces to review the stadium. You will see those time pieces at that house.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I like that because Shazda is always coming back to business. You can tell me his name was going all over the place, but you always watch this, guys. Let's go. Okay, go.
SPEAKER_02So, why are we here today? Today we have to go on the fall review for Citizen Watch Canada brand. As I said, we have Citizen, Bolivar, Accutron, Caravel, Alpina, and Freddy Consor. All our new launches, some from Watches and Wonders, some as I meant up, all your new hall releases. Yeah, there's a lot of stuff over here, various different styles. We have a lot of special collaborations with Shelby. We have a new Luna Pandas Black Hole collection, which is very cool. As I mentioned, it's 50 years of eco drive. And for Alpina, we're moving more towards solar power watches. So we have a solar meter, and we also have uh some of the few new watches like a the Moneta solar meter for FB Costal. So all in all, I think it's we're I'm not actually gone to the dark side.
SPEAKER_03If we can film you in a few minutes, I will ask if you can show us one or two eyelids. I always smell the behind. So for you guys, maybe you're a member of Hilo, but uh we sure we introduced Michael and then Tyler came out. Yeah, uh they were both uh very proud and humble that you guys are to cosmologian as well. You know, I'm very happy to have you here and with the citizen group.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's amazing. It's a pleasure to have both of you here to check out the product that I love so much, and yeah, for you guys to take part in this movie.
SPEAKER_03Uh listen, I'm uh they're they're uh you know, not proud, but I'm going to be part of you, Julia, a little bit. Not to uh feel like you go on the very excited to see you there. So I appreciate it. Yeah, no, but anyways, I'm I'm looking forward to work with you such as I do, you know. Yes, it's really it'll be good. It'll be fantastic. And uh yeah, I I know that uh as you were saying earlier, we we might have fewer lunches to uh to review.
SPEAKER_04So that would be cool for sure. Yeah, I'm gonna start with the more traditional product from Accutron. So this is the Acatron astronaut. So 904 L stainless steel dive watch, 100 meters of water resistance automatic, which is really cool, especially a brand known for tuning fork technology. Having a high-end Swiss made movement and a beautiful dive watch like this is fantastic. Moving on from that, the Space View 314. So the Space View 314 on the back, you can see the power cell here. The power cell provides energy to these two capacitors, which creates a magnetic field, which resonates a tuning fork, which allows for such an accurate sweep of the second hand. That's great and creates a lot of stability for the movement as well. What I've been telling people tonight is Accuchon technology is a great example of the compromise between analog watchmaking and digital watchmaking. Yeah, it's kind of like I call it the watchmaking perfect world, if that makes sense. Both things coming together in harmony to create one concise whole rock that's just beautiful to look at because great on the wrist. And like there's a lot of hemming and hawing around the brand within our like our industry. Yeah, but they're such a cool watch to experience. And to know something like this exists makes my heart really happy. And from there, we're gonna move into so this is the Space View 2020, and then we also have the Space View DNA. So basically how these work, they like a standard automatic movement. So usually the rotor, when it spins, sends kinetic energy into the main spring. Okay, instead of a main spring, this converts kinetic energy into electrostatic energy, which houses the two turbines here, runs on a differential to this turbine and operates the hands. It's super mesmerized if you just watch those turbines go. Yeah, conversation starter and another watch that I think is the perfect compromise between digital versus analog. Yeah, because both are beautiful forms of watch making and both need to exist for the watch industry to be asked that there's a physical representation of both robes colliding. Do you have any other uh thankies that you want to introduce us? Yes. This is one of the watches that I'm so excited to showcase. This is the Boulevard Shelby. It's a watch that was in uh design and collaboration with Carol Shelby or his firm, inspired by the 69 Daytona Coupe. So you get this beautiful chrome finish, awesome numerals reminiscent of the instrument cluster inside the car. And it's just something that pays such a tribute to, because I have a big motorsport background myself. Paying tribute to a man that built some of the most beautiful cars in automotive history. Designing one of the most beautiful watches ever made, in my opinion, like you're a little biased, but in my opinion, yeah, it's absolutely stunning, and you can't really get a sense of how gorgeous this watch is until it's in front of you. So it's completely high polish all the way around. The bracelet has a bit of um brush finishing to it. Well, all in all, it's a spectacular mirror finish on the dial as well. The thing I noticed with this dial, too, it absorbs the light of the root, like whatever light you're in. Look at me up. Absolutely. So you could have in some instances it looks pink, in other instances it looks blue. It just changes picture to picture, which is really cool. And I think there's some ladies as well. Yeah, we've moved into the Mark Anthony collection. We all have our goddess of times, which are very beautiful traditional styling of a ladies' watch, smaller form factor, they're just awesome. They're spectacular options for ladies, more so in the jewelry vein, but while keeping the designs traditional watchmaking, traditional veriva, spectacular stuff. Big fan of that. And another one of our releases, which was huge and has been talked about quite frequently, is the Lunar Pilot Black Hole. So if you guys haven't seen this yet, black on black, but it's a muso black dial. Okay. Oh so for those at home that don't know, Muso Black is in the same vein as Vanta Vibrary. Vance of Black says it's 99.9% of light. Musa Black, which is this, 99.3%. Uh, it's just Vanta Black has a heavy patent on it. So they did one better and created Musso Black, which has a commercialized uh patent, which people can use. Amazing balance. So, obviously, with the Lunar Pilot and the Apollo missions that it's tied to space, the infinite void. This is the black hole. The blackest black you could ever think of. Do you like if I try it? Do go for it. 41 millimeter case, which is sized down from the traditional 43 millimeter case. And the matte finishing, too, in contrast with the dial. It just adds a nice stealthy sleek addition to the lunar pilot line. And this the smaller case size equals smaller lug to lug. So it's more compact across the board, not just in case diameter, but lug to lug as well.
SPEAKER_03I'm with Roz here. You bet. Pleasure. Pleasure, man. Awesome. So what I love about events like this is to meet people that you never met, or maybe you met, but you don't remember when. That's right. And then you just hang out.
SPEAKER_00That's exactly it.
SPEAKER_03What I always say is the watches, I love it. But anytime that you have people in the same room that have the same passion, watches, cars, cheese, knife, doesn't matter. Yeah. Just love this atmosphere.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's awesome. It's great. So, and also, I have a cut here, and you told me you have a show. The Cobra Crow, that's my YouTube channel, so I can create all kinds of content related to watches. It could be vlogs, it could be giving watch reviews. Yeah. Basically, hands-on with whatever watches that you may have. I put those videos together, no problem. I also will review sunglasses as well. I only wear two accessories, and that's gonna be a watch and sunglasses. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now that I have prescription lenses, I have to wear, it even works that much better, right? Exactly. I can put that information out there, and whatever I can do to try to, you know, help anyone understand or make a better decision as far as what they're gonna buy. I think I'm if I could reach one person, I've been successful. Exactly.
SPEAKER_03So I was telling Ross that our platform is all about sharing the love for watches, but also for entrepreneurship, for people that have a goal and a mission. Yeah, so you know, I've a thought and I said that behind the camera, but now I'm set on front with witnesses. Feel free to have a look if you're interested. But that's what I love. I love to share the love, talk to people, connect with people. Yeah. So hopefully we can have you on the contributor. But I'm definitely going to check out your website and I'm going to be following you tonight. Awesome. That's very much talking. It was a pleasure. Yeah, pleasure.
SPEAKER_00All right. See you at the next meetup. Exactly.
SPEAKER_03Inconnator, obviously. Obviously, incognito. So yes. I know you told me you have a citizen on the wrist. I'm one of my favorite citizens. And I don't want you to be awkward. I know you have your drink. Easier to check. Sure. So what do you think about? So I have the series 8 GMT from Citizen.
SPEAKER_04Okay. This is the limited edition in board with a incredibly textured dive, very reminiscent of another Japanese brand that we won't say. And I love this one. This is my favorite beach watch.
SPEAKER_03I get a 10. It's the one to have and the one to wear. And you know what I really appreciate right now at this moment is that one thing that you will realize, I don't have watches up. Why? Why? Because if I go to a watch brand, and I don't earn the watch, I will not wear this. Everybody does their thing. But what I appreciate here is that you can move a citizen. Absolutely. Citizen wash on your wrist. Absolutely. Yeah. Wearing the Bolivar Super Seville. I like it. Sounds also one of my favorites in Bolivar. Beautiful. I get the chance. There you go. Okay, cool. So we have to represent I know. I'm just different brands. I didn't want to take too much of your time. Yeah, but you are awesome. Yeah? Thank you so much. I still have it. Well, here are the albina girls. Yes. We have like different type pieces here. You see, we have this beautiful dial. So we don't have a lot of technical because obviously we led with the brand. But for me, it's all about inspiration and looking at the dial. It's a cool looking one. What I always love Ibina. I believe that Albina is not yet to the level of distribution that he should. And it is the idea the brand is working on, and we're finding good cameras to work with. But it's a beautiful brand. And you see kind of the aviation inspiration in the case map as well. And we have this time piece, look at the dial, it has some like three wipes. So I'm working on my meta, but you know what? I'm going to put it on the on the DGL because I feel like it is a nice dial to look for you guys. Guys, mind if I borrow this one? That's a beautiful dial. Tell me what you think in the comments. This is cool looking time piece. We have a cushion case here. Yeah. Look at this orange hero. If we show you this wipe, I will see how P Ladier. Like the shape, the flower, the rubber strap. Of course, it's a prototype. It's not a working, you know, a version, but it's like really cool. It's very nice. I wear this event because it's very uh Shangri, obviously, very prestigious, very nice hotel downtown show. You know, people get together. That's what when you have passionate people together, I love it. Here on the Punyl Coastal, obviously very classic. Ooh, I like that. Look at that. This is very original. I didn't see my wife wearing that. It also, you know, uh kind of like a jewelry as well. That's right. Let's go back to put it guests. Come with us, guys. We don't have the side. Alright, we obviously keep paying the group to the end, citizen. So let's go.
SPEAKER_01Actually, Thomas, our audience saw this type piece for the first time at the JCK. Okay, we were the first publication to post it on the social media. This is the citizen photon. It's a titanium watch at a drive.
SPEAKER_03It kind of charges with light. And I just want to show one thing. Please fill the lightways. Then we uh be on the right.
SPEAKER_01This is a limited edition type piece, and Citizen Team informed us that they will have 200 of them in Canada. And the estimated retail price will be like 1500, 1600. But I think you know, for this technical switch, it's a really cool watch, you know.
SPEAKER_03Let us wear it. Let another one to shame in. Wow, this is a beast. This is the artist as well. It's you know, the significant collection of Citizen Guru. Yeah, amazing work, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It has a real time of functionality. That's very nice. That's all I know. It's uh it's a big time beast. I'm wondering what is the size? I believe like 46, 47, maybe. I think so. It's like definitely 943. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's store some watches, then let's go get a drink. Yes, let's go. All right, come with us, guys. Okay, after seeing all these watches, excited to be here. Thank you for joining us. There's so many amazing things coming up very soon. There's more coverage of Geneva that I'm not even published yet. More coverage from JC Pan Cruise that you did. Coming up, Hong Kong, and then the Toronto time piece, and then Geneva again for the popular hour. So many also some amazing contributors that are going to be announced as well. Almost who knows, maybe we can go to Dubai or Singapore uh shows as well. I would love that. I would love that. I'm not sure you're reaching out to the Dubai show, you know, crossing fingers, but yeah, that would be amazing. And even if we don't go, what I would love is that we have somebody in Dubai or somebody in Istanbul or somebody in Singapore to reach out to connect with us and then you know to uh grow the WGNA community. So cheers, cheers for tonight, cheers for citizen group cloud in us, and hopefully you guys enjoy what you saw today. Cheers
